Security
noremorseforwinning asked:

Recently my CA Security Suite has been acting up where my anti virus and anti spam were turned off it when i went to the “Secure Now” button it said i had to update my software but when i updated it said it was all updated and didn’t need updates but when i tried to secure it again it kept going to the update thing but there was nothing to update over and over again. So i uninstalled CA Security Suite and tried reinstalling but this leads up to my question it says Windows - No Disk

What should I do about this virus issue?

Security
Goodbye asked:

Last night, my computer at home detected and found a virus. My firewall was on, and I ran my anti-virus, and all my other anti-spam, anti-this and that :) and removed everything they all found, however…there is an icon in the system tray that keeps flashing saying that it found “harmful spyware” and when I click on it, it goes to some “Malwiped” website and the website is reading as restricted. I have never seen this icon before I had this problem. Also, when I open up Internet Explorer, the first page it goes too is some weird “Internet Security” page, almost looks like a fake Windows page, cause of the colors. I checked to see what my homepage was, and it still says it is Yahoo. And there is also a toolbar in my Internet Explorer that I have never saw before either, and I can’t get rid of it! Will doing a system restore help this problem? I have all of my files already backed up. Any help or advice is appreciated, and if you want, send me a message if you’d like! Thanks a lot!
I did do an update on my anti-virus earlier that day…and yes…this thing is called “Spylocked”, the icon in the tray! that forum link is helping..I’m still reading away though!
Update: I checked out the forum thread the first user posted…right on the money with my problem. I followed the instructions, however the fake security toolbar in my browser didn’t go away..so I did a system restore. Thanks for all your answers! Helped a lot! :)

What is the all time best anti virus software for 2009?

Security
KevintheAsian asked:

I’m using Kaspersky Internet Suite that will expire in two months.

What is the best software to defend against virues, e-mail spam, and overall protection, and firefall?

I don’t mind if it isn’t part of a suite…Meaning I’m open to using multiple softwares.

Best Antivirus, Firewall, Spyware/spam?

Security
GoodShepherd asked:

What is the best antivirius, firewall and anti-spy/spam? It doesn’t matter if it’s all single (like zonealarm, norton, etc.,). Or if it’s a package deal like Norton Internet security suite.

However I want them to all work together as I understand Norton antivirus does not work with some others.

Is McAfree good?

What’s going to stop those weird things like 008k.Com? Coolweb, etc.?

Is there A spam filter on XP Home or Vista?

Security
rmreed03 asked:

I had “Norton Internet Security” but changed to “Naspersky Anti Virus”. With Norton it was great but it slowed my PC down, so I wanted to try somthing different. Naspersky was suggested. Some spam still gets thru, should I go back to Norton? Back to the question, is there a spam filter/block built into XP Home or Vista?
